Ex 6.3, 5 Find the absolute maximum value and the absolute minimum value of the following functions in the given intervals: (iv) f (đĽ) = (đĽ â1)2 + 3, đĽ â [â3,1] f (đĽ) = (đĽ â1)2 + 3 Finding fâ(đ) fâ(x) = đ((đĽ â 1)^2+3)/đđĽ = 2(đĽâ1) Putting fâ(đ)=đ 2(đĽâ1)=0 đĽâ1=0 đĽ=1 Since given interval đĽ â [â3 , 1] Hence , calculating f(đĽ) at đĽ = â 3 , 1 Absolute Minimum value of f(x) is 3 at đ = 1 & Absolute Maximum value of f(x) is 19 at đ = â 3
