The diagram shows the phenomenon called Dispersion of Light through a glass prism .

  • Dispersion of light is the phenomenon of splitting white light into its component colours when passed through a transparent medium. 
  • White light is split into 7 colours in decreasing order of their wavelengths and/or velocity from top to bottom when passed through a glass prism.

Therefore, Yellow light has a higher wavelength than Blue light .
