Question 6 Using identities, evaluate. (viii) 〖8.9〗^2 〖8.9〗^2 = (9−0.1)^2 (𝑎−𝑏)^2=𝑎^2+𝑏^2−2𝑎𝑏 Putting 𝑎 = 9 & 𝑏 = 0.1 = (9)^2+(0.1)^2−2(9)(0.9) = 81+(1/10)^2−(2×9×1/10) = 81 + 1/100 − 18/10 = (81 × 100 + 1 − 180)/100 = (8100 + 1 − 18)/100 = (8101 − 18)/100 = 7921/100 = 79.21
