Ex 6.1, 5 (viii) Find the perimeters of the following shapes (taking the arcs to be quarter or half or three-quarters of a circle, as appropriate) Here, we have 1 big semicircle with Diameter = 4 + 4 + 4 = 12 cm 3 small semicircle with Diameter = 4 cm Now, Perimeter of shape = Circumference of semicircle with Diameter 12 cm + 3 × Circumference of semicircle with Diameter 4 cm = Circumference of semicircle with Radius 6 cm + 3 × Circumference of semicircle with Radius 2 cm = 𝟏/𝟐 × 𝟐 × 𝝅 × 𝟔+𝟑 × (𝟏/𝟐 × 𝟐 × 𝝅 × 𝟐) = 𝜋 × 6+3 × 𝜋 × 2 = 𝜋 × 6+ 𝜋 × 6 = 𝜋 × (6+6) = 𝝅 × 𝟏𝟐 = 22/7 × 12 = 264/7 = 37.71 cm
