Ex 6.1, 5 (iii) Find the perimeters of the following shapes (taking the arcs to be quarter or half or three-quarters of a circle, as appropriate) Here, Perimeter of given shape = 4 × Length of curved blue line = 4 × Circumference of half circle Let’s find circumference of half circle Circumference of half circle Diameter = 10 cm Radius = r = 𝐷𝑖𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑟/2 = 10/2 = 5 cm Circumference of half circle = 1/2 × Circumference of circle = 𝟏/𝟐 × 2𝜋r = 𝜋r = 22/7 × 5 = 𝟏𝟏𝟎/𝟕 cm Now, Perimeter of given shape = 4 × Circumference of half circle = 4 × 110/7 cm = 𝟒𝟒𝟎/𝟕 cm Hence, perimeter of given shape is 𝟒𝟒𝟎/𝟕 cm
