Ex 6.1, 5 (v) Find the perimeters of the following shapes (taking the arcs to be quarter or half or three-quarters of a circle, as appropriate) Quarter circle with radius = 14 cm Our figure has Quarter circles Semi circles Let’s label them in our figure Quarter circle with radius = 14 cm Semi circle with Diameter = 14 cm Now, Perimeter of figure = 4 × Circumference of Quarter circle with radius 14 cm + 4 × Circumference of Semi circle with diameter 14 cm = 4 × Circumference of Quarter circle with radius 14 cm + 4 × Circumference of Semi circle with radius 7 cm = 4 × (𝟏/𝟒 × 𝟐 × 𝝅 × 𝟏𝟒)+"4 × " (𝟏/𝟐 × 𝟐 × 𝝅 × 𝟕) = 2 × 𝜋 × 14+"4 ×" 𝜋 × 7 = 28𝜋+28𝜋 = 𝟓𝟔𝝅 = 56 ×22/7 = 8 × 22 = 176 cm
