Ex 6.1, 5 (iv) Find the perimeters of the following shapes (taking the arcs to be quarter or half or three-quarters of a circle, as appropriate) Here, we have an equilateral triangle of side 12 cm On each side, there is a semicircle of Diameter = Side = 12 cm Now, Perimeter of shape = 3 × Perimeter of Semicircle of Diameter 12 cm = 3 × Perimeter of Semicircle of Radius 6 cm = 3 × 1/2 × 2𝜋r = 3 × 𝜋r = 3 × 22/7 × 6 = 396/7 = 56.57 cm
