Ex 6.2, 1 Find the area of triangle ADE in Fig. 6.31. We can use formula Area of Triangle = 𝟏/𝟐 × Base × Height Her, base is AD Let’s draw height So, Height is EN Now, EN is equal to length of the rectangle ABCD ∴ EN = 10 cm And, Breadth of rectangle is equal ∴ AD = BC = 8 cm Now, Area ∆ AED = 1/2 × Base × Height = 1/2 × AD × EN = 𝟏/𝟐 × 8 × 10 = 4 × 10 = 40 cm2
