What these tools were
- Chopper - a stone with a few pieces knocked off one edge to make a rough cutting edge. Used to chop meat and break bones .
- Hand axe - a large stone shaped on both sides into a point, held in the hand. An all-purpose cutting tool .
- Cleaver - a large stone tool with a broad, straight edge. Used to cleave (split) animal bones to take out the protein-rich marrow inside.
- Flake tool - a tool made from a thin flake struck off a bigger stone. Lighter and sharper than a chopper.
