Question 9 Let a and b be two non-zero rational numbers such that 𝑎+1/𝑏=0 Without assigning any numerical values, determine whether ab is positive or negative. Justify your answer. Given that 𝒂+𝟏/𝒃=𝟎, and a ≠ 0, b ≠ 0 Now, 𝑎+1/𝑏=0 𝑎=0−1/𝑏 𝑎=(−1)/𝑏 Cross multiplying 𝑎 × b=−1 𝒂𝒃=−𝟏 Thus, product ab is negative
