Example 3 Find the radius of the circle in which a central angle of 60ยฐ intercepts an arc of length 37.4 cm (use ฯ = 22/7 ) Given ๐ = 37.4 cm and ฮธ = 60ยฐ Converting angle into radians We know that Radian measure = ๐ /๐๐๐ ร Degree measure = ๐/180 ร 60 = ๐ /๐ radian Now, ฮธ "= " ๐/๐ " " ๐ = ๐/๐ฝ = (๐๐. ๐)/(๐ /๐) = (37. 4)/(22/(7 ร 3)) = 35.7 cm
