Question 24 Find the area of a sector of a circle with diameter 28 cm, If the length of the corresponding arc is 22 cm. Given Diameter = 28 cm ∴ Radius = 14 cm Let the arc subtend an angle 𝜃 at the center Now, Length of Arc APB = (𝜃)/(360) × (2𝜋𝑟) 22 = (𝜽)/(𝟑𝟔𝟎°) × 𝟐 × (𝟐𝟐)/(𝟕) × 𝟏𝟒 22 = (𝜃)/(360°) × 2 × 22 × 2 𝜃 O A B 14 cm P 22 cm 22 × 360° × (1)/(2 × 22 × 2)=𝜃 (𝟑𝟔𝟎° )/(𝟒) = 𝜃 90° = 𝜃 𝜃 = 90° Now, Area of required sector = (𝜃)/(360)×𝜋𝑟2 = (𝟗𝟎)/(𝟑𝟔𝟎) × (𝟐𝟐)/(𝟕) × 𝟏𝟒 × 𝟏𝟒 = (1)/(4) × (22)/(7) × 21 × 21 = (1)/(4) × 22 × 2 × 14 = 154 cm^(2) 𝜃 O A B 14 cm P 22 cm
