Question 36 (Case Based Questions) A city's traffic management department is planning to optimize traffic flow by analyzing the connectivity between various traffic signals. The city has five major spots labelled 𝐴,𝐡,𝐢,𝐷, and 𝐸. The department has collected the following data regarding one-way traffic flow between spots:1. Traffic flows from 𝐴 to 𝐡,𝐴 to 𝐢, and 𝐴 to 𝐷. 2. Traffic flows from 𝐡 to 𝐢 and 𝐡 to 𝐸. 3. Traffic flows from 𝐢 to 𝐸. 4. Traffic flows from 𝐷 to 𝐸 and 𝐷 to 𝐢. The department wants to represent and analyze this data using relations and functions. Use the given data to answer the following questions:Traffic flow is a relation which looks like R = {(A, B), (A, C), (A, D), (B, C), (B, E), (C, E), (D, E), (D, C)} Now, let’s answer these questions Question 36 (i) Is the traffic flow reflexive? Justify.R = {(A, B), (A, C), (A, D), (B, C), (B, E), (C, E), (D, E), (D, C)} If the relation is reflexive, then (x, x) ∈ R for every x ∈ A i.e. {A, B, C, D, E} Since (A, A) βˆ‰ R ∴ R is not reflexive
