The developmental goals that the people have are not only about better income but also other important things in life like respect for others , equal treatment , freedom , security, affectionate behavior , etc. 

For example- 

1. Women who are engaged in paid work get more respect in the household and society . As a result, there would be more showing of housework and a greater acceptance of women working outside. 
2. A safe and secure environment, as desired by women, may encourage more women to take on a variety of jobs or run a business. 
3. Before accepting a job, people may consider many factors, apart from income , such as facilities for family , working atmosphere , job security, opportunity to learn , the scope for promotion , work timings, etc.
