Question 36 (ii) If 6 is the critical point of the function, then find the value of the constant m.Since 6 is the critical point of the function ∴ f’(6) = 0 Finding f’(x) 𝑓(𝑥) = −0.1𝑥^2 + 𝑚𝑥 + 98 Differentiating w.r.t. x 𝑓‘(𝑥) = −0.1 × 2𝑥 + 𝑚 Putting x = 6 𝑓‘(6) = −0.1 × 2 × 6 + 𝑚 0 = −1.2 + m 1.2 = m m = 1.2
