Question 12 (iv) Write the sample space and calculate the probability based on the given information. (iv) A four-digit number is formed using the digits 1, 2, 3, and 4 with no repetition. What is the probability that the number is even? For a number to be even, it must end in 2 or 4 Since there are 4 digits, and 2 of them are even Thus, Required Probability = (𝑁𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑑𝑖𝑔𝑖𝑡𝑠)/(𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑑𝑖𝑔𝑖𝑡𝑠) = 2/4 = 𝟏/𝟐
