Question 14 If △ABC∼△DEF,AB=6" " cm,DE=9" " cm,EF=6" " cm and FD=12" " cm, then the perimeter of △ABC is (A) 28 cm (B) 28.5 cm (C) 18 cm (D) 23 cm Since ∆ ABC ~ ∆ DEF Sides will be proportional 𝐀𝐁/𝐃𝐄=𝑩𝑪/𝑬𝑭=𝑨𝑪/𝑫𝑭 Putting values 6/9=𝐵𝐶/6=𝐴𝐶/12 𝟐/𝟑=𝑩𝑪/𝟔=𝑨𝑪/𝟏𝟐 Now, Perimeter of Δ ABC = AB + BC + CD = 6 + 4 + 8 = 18 cm So, the correct answer is (c) 𝑩𝑪/𝟔=𝟐/𝟑 BC = 𝟐/𝟑 × 6 BC = 4 cm 𝟐/𝟑=𝑨𝑪/𝟏𝟐 AC = 𝟐/𝟑 × 12 AC = 8 cm
