Question 21 (B) Find the middle term of A.P 6, 13, 20, ……., 230To find the middle term, we need to first find the Number of terms Given AP 6, 13, 20, ……., 230 Here a = 6 d = 13 – 6 = 7 And, an = 230 We need to find n Now, an = a + (n – 1) d Putting values 230 = 6 + (n – 1) × 7 230 = 6 + 7n – 7 230 = 7n – 1 230 + 1 = 7n 231 = 7n 7n = 231 n = 231/7 n = 33 Thus, Number of terms is 33 Now, we need to find Middle term Middle term = ((𝑛+1)/2)^𝑡ℎ term = (33 + 1)/2 = 34/2 = 17th term Finding Middle term (17th term) Putting n = 17, a = 6, d = 7 in an = a + (n – 1) d a17 = 6 + (17 – 1) × 7 a17 = 6 + 16 × 7 a17 = 6 + 112 a17 = 118 Thus, Middle term is 118
