What is Denatured Alcohol?

- Ethanol is an alcohol which is not fit for consumptio n.
- However, it has a wide range of applications in the industry.
- Therefore, to prevent its misuse, it is made unfit f or drinking by adding methanol.
- In order to distinguish it from other alcohols, dye such as copper sulfate is added which gives it a blue color.
- This is known as denatured alcohol .
