Class 7
Chapter 8 Class 7 - Measurement of Time and Motion (Curiosity)

The basic speed formula can be rearranged to find distance or time.

Speed - Distance - Time Formulas TO FIND SPEED Speed = Distance ÷ Time Use when distance and time are known TO FIND DISTANCE Distance = Speed × Time Use when speed and time are known TO FIND TIME Time = Distance ÷ Speed Use when distance and speed are known

The three forms of the formula are:

  • To find speed
Speed = Total distance covered ÷ Total time taken
  • To find distance
Total distance covered = Speed × Total time taken
  • To find time
Total time taken = Total distance covered ÷ Speed
