Question 14 In a bag containing 24 balls, 4 are blue, 11 are green and the rest are white. One ball is drawn at random. The probability that drawn ball is white in colour is (A) 1/6 (B) 3/8 (C) 11/24 (D) 5/8 Total number of balls = 24 Number of blue balls = 4 Number of green balls = 11 Now, Number of white balls = Total balls − blue balls − green balls = 24 − 4 − 11 = 24 − 15 = 9 Thus, Probability ball is white = (𝑁𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑏𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑠)/(𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑛𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝑏𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑠) = 9/24 = 3/8 So, the correct answer is (B)
