Question 4 If nth term of an A.P. is 7𝑛−4 then the common difference of the A.P. is (A) 7 (B) 7𝑛 (C) - 4 (D) 4Taking n = 1 a1 = 7 × 1 − 4 a = 7 − 4 a = 3 Taking n = 2 a2 = 7 × 2 − 4 a2 = 14 − 4 a2 = 10 Taking n = 3 a3 = 7 × 3 − 4 a3 = 21 − 4 a3 = 17 Since an = 7n − 4 Hence, AP is 3, 10, 17, ….. Common difference = d = 10 − 3 = 7 So, the correct answer is (A)
