The delta region of the eastern coast is frequently struck by cyclones.

 

Answer:

  • By early November, the low-pressure conditions over northwestern India have been transferred to the Bay of Bengal. 
  • his shift is linked to the occurrence of cyclonic depressions that form over the Andaman Sea. These cyclones typically cross India's eastern coasts, causing heavy and widespread rain .  
  • Cyclones frequently strike the densely populated deltas of the Eastern India causing significant damage to life and property. 

This is one of the reasons why cyclones frequently strike the eastern coast's delta region.
