  4. Southwest Monsoons,  Retreating Monsoons, and Northeast Monsoons.

India has a Monsoon type of climate because of the following reasons:

  1. The Monsoon winds dominate the Indian climate . Monsoon winds are restricted to tropical lands located between 20°N and 20°S.
  2. In the Indian subcontinent, the Himalayas direct the flow of the Monsoon winds , which bring the entire subcontinent under their influence. 
  3. From June to September , these winds account for 75% to 90% of annual rainfall.
  4. It is influenced by Southwest Monsoons,  Retreating Monsoons, and Northeast Monsoons.
