  • Disruptions to the food supply chain : A calamity can damage the infrastructure and logistics that are essential for the production, storage, transportation and distribution of food. This can create shortages of food in the affected areas, spoilage of food due to lack of proper storage facilities, and increase in food prices due to higher costs and lower supply.
