Some points to justify the statement that agriculture gives a boost to the industrial sector are:

  • Agriculture provides raw materials to many industries such as cotton, jute, sugar, etc. and thus supports their production and growth. For example, the cotton industry depends on the supply of cotton from the farmers and the sugar industry depends on the supply of sugarcane from the farmers.

  • Agriculture c reates demand for various industrial goods such as fertilizers, pesticides, machinery, etc. and thus stimulates their market and sales. For example, farmers need fertilizers and pesticides to increase their crop yield and protect them from pests and diseases.

  • Agriculture generates income and employment for a large section of the population and thus improves the income of farmers and agricultural workers, which can lead to more demand for industrial goods and services. For example, the farmers earn income from selling their crops and products in the market. Moreover, industries related to agriculture such as food processing and agrochemicals also generate employment, especially in rural areas.
