Question (e) Find the sums and differences: (e) 8 6/100−5 3/100These are mixed fractions, converting them into normal fractions 8 6/100=(8 × 100 + 6)/100=𝟖𝟎𝟔/𝟏𝟎𝟎 5 3/100=(5 × 100 + 3)/100=𝟓𝟎𝟑/𝟏𝟎𝟎 Now, finding difference 𝟖𝟎𝟔/𝟏𝟎𝟎− 𝟓𝟎𝟑/𝟏𝟎𝟎 Since denominator is same, we subtract numerator 𝟖𝟎𝟔/𝟏𝟎𝟎− 𝟓𝟎𝟑/𝟏𝟎𝟎 =(806 − 503)/100 (Note: It is not 86/100 but 806/100) (Note: It is not 53/100 but 503/100) =𝟑𝟎𝟑/𝟏𝟎𝟎 =(300 + 3)/100 =300/100+3/100 =3+3/100 =𝟑 𝟑/𝟏𝟎𝟎
