How does the creation of variations in a species promote survival?

Answer:

The environment and species are gradually evolving over the years.

The variation in organisms often helps them to adapt to the environment in a better way.

For Example -

The green variety of beetles is not eaten by crows as they remain hidden in the green bushes, giving it a survival advantage over the red beetles.

However not all variations give a survival advantage.

For Example -

In this case, the blue beetles are equally eaten by the crows as the red beetles. So the variation does not bring about any survival advantage.

Thus creation of certain variations in some species gives them a survival advantage and helps them to adapt to the environment in a better way .
