Example 16 Divide z (5𝑧^2 – 80) by 5z (z + 4) We first factorise z(γ€–5𝑧〗^2βˆ’ 80) = z(γ€–5𝑧〗^2βˆ’ (16 Γ— 5)) Taking 5 common, = z Γ— 5 (𝑧^2βˆ’ 16) = 5z (𝑧^2 βˆ’ 4^2) Using π‘Ž^2 βˆ’ 𝑏^2 = (a + b) (a βˆ’ b) Here π‘Ž= z and b = 4 = 5z (z + 4) (z βˆ’ 4) Dividing (𝑧 (5𝑧^2 βˆ’ 80))/(5𝑧 (𝑧 + 4)) = (5𝑧 (𝑧 + 4) (𝑧 βˆ’ 4))/(5𝑧 (𝑧 + 4)) = 5𝑧/5𝑧 Γ— ((𝑧 + 4))/((𝑧 + 4)) Γ— (z βˆ’ 4) = 1 Γ— 1 Γ— (z βˆ’ 4) = (z βˆ’ 4)
