Ex 4.2, 2 Using the property of determinants and without expanding, prove that: a−bb−cc−𝑎b−cc−aa−bc−aa−bb−c = 0 a−bb−cc−𝑎b−cc−aa−bc−aa−bb−c Making first row 0 by Applying R1 →R1 + R2 + R3 = a−b+b−c+c−ab−c+c−a+a−bc−a+a−b+b−cb−cc−aa−bc−aa−bb−c = 000b−cc−aa−bc−aa−bb−c = 0 c−aa−ba−bb−c – 0 b−ca−bc−ab−c + 0 b−cc−ac−aa−b = 0 – 0 + 0 = 0 = R.H.S Thus, L.H.S = R.H.S Hence proved
