Example 6 Find factors of algebraic expression: 36𝑥^2+12𝑥+1. Since 62 = 36, we can write our expression as 36𝑥^2 + 12𝑥 + 1 = 36𝑥^2 + 1 + 12𝑥 = (𝟔𝒙)^𝟐 + (𝟏)^𝟐 + 2 × 𝟔𝒙 × 1 = (𝟔𝒙+𝟏)^𝟐 Using (𝑎+𝑏)^2 = 𝑎^2 + 𝑏^2 + 2ab Where 𝑎 = 6𝑥, b = 1
