Question 37 (iii) (Choice B) If the radius(r) is increased from 21m to 28m and the angle remains the same, what is the increase in the area of the watered region?Let’s find Area of new sector first Now, New Radius = r = 28m Angle = 80° Finding Area Area of new sector = 𝜃/(360°)× 𝜋𝑟2 = (𝟖𝟎° )/(𝟑𝟔𝟎° )× 𝝅 × (𝟐𝟖)𝟐 = 2/(9 )× 𝜋 × 28 × 28 = 174.22𝝅 m2 Finding Change in Area Change in Area = New Area – Old Area = 174.22𝜋 – 98𝜋 = (174.22 – 98)𝜋 = 76.22𝝅 Putting 𝜋 = 3.14 = 239.33 m2
