Question 14 (a) Write the decimal forms of the quantities mentioned (an example is given): (a) 87 ones, 5 tenths and 60 hundredths = 88.10 Number = 87 × 1 + 5 × 1/10 + 60 × 1/100 = 87 + 5/10 + 60/100 = 87 + 5/10 + 6/10 = 87 + (5 + 6)/10 = 87 + 𝟏𝟏/𝟏𝟎 = (87 × 10 + 11)/10 = (870 + 11)/10 = 881/10 = 88.1
