In DC Generator, Direction of electrical current doesn’t change

AC generator does not have commutators.

DC generators have commutators to make the current flow in one direction only.

It is used to power small electrical appliances. 

It is used to power very large motors. 

AC Generators require very less maintenance 

DC Generators require frequent maintenance
