What are Micelles?

 

Answer:

  • The unique orientation of soap/detergent molecules inside the water which prevents the contact of the hydrophobic (water fearing) part of the molecule with water is known as a micelle .
  •  In this arrangement,  the hydrophilic part faces toward the surface of water whereas the hydrophobic part faces towards the inside of the cluster .
