Ex 3.3, 7 Simplify the following using the distributive property: 7/9 (6/7−3/4). In Distributive property, we distribute the outside term to both terms in the product Now, 𝟕/𝟗 (𝟔/𝟕−𝟑/𝟒)=7/9 × (6/7−3/4) =𝟕/𝟗 ×𝟔/𝟕−𝟕/𝟗 ×𝟑/𝟒 =(7 × 6)/(9 × 7)−(7 × 3)/(9 × 4) =(1 × 6)/(9 × 1)−(7 × 1)/(3 × 4) =6/9−7/12 =𝟐/𝟑−𝟕/𝟏𝟐 Since LCM of 3 and 12 is 12 =2/3 ×4/4−7/12 =8/12−7/12 =(8 − 7)/12 =𝟏/𝟏𝟐
