Find out the weight each ingredient makes up in this packet.Let’s find it one-by-one Potato Here, Percentage of Potato = (𝑾𝒆𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐)/(𝑻𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑾𝒆𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕) × 100 70 = (𝑊𝑒𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑃𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑜)/65 × 100 70 × 65/100 = Weight of Potato= Weight of Potato = 70 × 𝟔𝟓/𝟏𝟎𝟎 Weight of Potato = 7 × 65/10 Weight of Potato = 455/10 Weight of Potato = 45.5 g Note: We can also write directly Weight of Potato = Percentage of Potato × Total weight = 70% × 65 Vegetable Oil Now, Weight of Vegetable Oil = Percentage of Vegetable Oil × Total weight = 24% × 65 = 24/100 × 65 = 6/25 × 65 = 6/5 × 13 = 78/5 = 15.6 g Salt Now, Weight of Salt = Percentage of Salt × Total weight = 3% × 65 = 3/100 × 65 = 195/100 = 1.95 g Spices Since Salt and spices are both 3%, their weight will be the same Thus, Weight of Spices = Weight of Salt = 1.95 g
