Question 6 What percentage of area is occupied by the region marked โ€˜Eโ€™ in the figure?We can write Percentage of Area as Percentage of Area occupied by E = (๐‘จ๐’“๐’†๐’‚ ๐’๐’‡ ๐‘ฌ)/(๐‘ป๐’๐’•๐’‚๐’ ๐‘จ๐’“๐’†๐’‚) ร— 100 We assume length between each dot is 1 unit Finding both areas Total Area It is a square with Side = 8 units Now, Total Area = Area of square of side 8 units = 8 ร— 8 = 64 square units Area of E It is a Right angled triangle with Height = 4 units Base = 4 units Now, Total Area = Area of right angled triangle = ๐Ÿ/๐Ÿ ร— Base ร— Height = 1/2 ร— 4 ร— 4 = 2 ร— 4 = 8 square units Now, Percentage of Area occupied by E = (๐ด๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘Ž ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐ธ)/(๐‘‡๐‘œ๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘™ ๐ด๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘Ž) ร— 100 = ๐Ÿ–/๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ’ ร— 100 = 1/8 ร— 100 = 1/2 ร— 25 = 12.5%
