Question 1 The population of Bengaluru in 2025 is about 250% of its population in 2000. If the population in 2000 was 50 lakhs, what is the population in 2025?Given Population in 2000 = 50 lakhs Also, population of Bengaluru in 2025 is about 250% of its population in 2000 So, we can write Population in 2025 = 250% × Population in 2000 = 250/100 × Population in 2000 = 𝟐𝟓𝟎/𝟏𝟎𝟎 × 50 = 250/2 = 125 Since population in 2000 was in lakhs, population in 2025 will be in lakhs Thus, Population in 2025 is 125 lakhs (or 1.25 crores).
