Question 6 A car runs 16 km using 1 litre of petrol. How far will it go using 2 3/4 litres of petrol? First, let’s convert our mixed fraction into normal fraction 𝟐 πŸ‘/πŸ’ =2+3/4 =(2 Γ— 4 + 3)/4 =(8 + 3)/4 =𝟏𝟏/πŸ’ Now, On 1 liter of petrol, car runs = 16 km On 𝟏𝟏/πŸ’ liters of petrol, car runs = 16 Γ— 𝟏𝟏/πŸ’ km = (16 Γ— 11)/4 = (4 Γ— 11)/1 = 44 km Therefore, the car will go 44 km.
