Multiplying Two Fractions The Rule a/b×c/d=(a×c)/(b×d) Example: 2/5×3/4 Multiply the top numbers. 2×3=6 2 Multiply the bottom numbers. 5×4=20 3 Simplify the resulting fraction. 6/20→3/10 Final Answer 2/5×3/4=6/20=3/10 Let’s do some examples 𝟐/𝟑 × 𝟓/𝟒 = (2 × 5)/(3 × 5) = (2 × 1)/(3 × 1) = 𝟐/𝟑 𝟖/𝟓 × 𝟐/𝟕 = (8 × 2)/(5 × 7) = 𝟏𝟔/𝟑𝟓 = 4 × 23/7 = (23 × 4)/7 = 𝟗𝟐/𝟕
