Question 1 Evaluate the following: Let’s do one by one 3 ÷ 𝟕/𝟗 = 3 × 9/7 = (3 × 9)/7 = 𝟐𝟕/𝟕 𝟏𝟒/𝟒 ÷ 2 = 14/4 × 1/2 = (14 × 1)/(4 × 2) = (7 × 1)/(2 × 2) = 𝟕/𝟒 𝟐/𝟑 ÷ 𝟐/𝟑 = 2/3 × 3/2 = (2 × 3)/(3 × 2) = 1 𝟏𝟒/𝟔 ÷ 𝟕/𝟑 = 14/6 × 3/7 = (14 × 3)/(6 × 7) = (2 × 3)/(6 × 1) = (2 × 1)/(2 × 1) = 1 𝟒/𝟑 ÷ 𝟑/𝟒 = 4/3 × 4/3 = (4 × 4)/(3 × 3) = 𝟏𝟔/𝟗 𝟕/𝟒 ÷ 𝟏/𝟕 = 7/4 × 7/1 = (7 × 7)/(4 × 1) = 𝟒𝟗/𝟒 𝟖/𝟐 ÷ 𝟒/𝟏𝟓 = 8/2 × 15/4 = (8 × 15)/(2 × 4) = (4 × 15)/(1 × 4) = (1 × 15)/(1 × 1) = 15 𝟏/𝟓 ÷ 𝟏/𝟗 = 1/5 × 9/1 = (1 × 9)/(5 × 1) = 𝟗/𝟓 𝟏/𝟔 ÷ 𝟏𝟏/𝟏𝟐 = 1/6 × 12/11 = (1 × 12)/(6 × 11) = (1 × 2)/(1 × 11) = 𝟐/𝟏𝟏 𝟑 𝟐/𝟑 ÷ 𝟏 𝟑/𝟖 First we convert into normal fractions 𝟑 𝟐/𝟑 = 3+2/3=(3 × 3 + 2)/3=(9 + 2)/3=𝟏𝟏/𝟑 𝟏 𝟑/𝟖 = 1+3/8=(1 × 8 + 3)/8=(8 + 3)/8=𝟏𝟏/𝟖 Now, 𝟑 𝟐/𝟑 ÷ 𝟏 𝟑/𝟖 = 𝟏𝟏/𝟑÷𝟏𝟏/𝟖 =11/3 ×8/11 =(11 × 8)/(3 × 11) =(1 × 8)/(3 × 1) = 𝟖/𝟑
