Question 5 (a) Using the digits 1, 4, 0, 8, and 6 make: (a) the decimal number closest to 30 We do not have digit 3 with us, so number closest to 30 could start with 2 or 4. Since, we don’t have 2, we start with 4. Now, we want a smaller number, so we take smallest digit 0 So, 40 is closer to 30, now we need decimal point Remaining digits are 1, 8, 6. Smallest number by them would be 168. So, we put 1, 6, 8 in number Thus, required number is 40.168
