What evidence do we have for the origin of life from inanimate matter?
Answer:
- Oparin and Haldane came up with a hypothesis to support the origin of life .
 - This hypothesis was used by Stanley L. Miller and Harold C. Urey to perform an experiment.
 - In a large flask they added methane, hydrogen and ammonia to mimic the primitive atmosphere (it did not have Oxygen).
 - They took water in a smaller flask to mimic water bodies and heated it so that water entered the larger flask (evaporation).
 - Then an electric spark was created to mimic lightning .
 - This resulted in the formation of organic molecules like amino acids which further form proteins which support living beings .
 - This gives evidence for the origin of life from inanimate matter .
 - This is known as the Urey-Miller Experiment .
