- Pitcher or jug-like structures are the modified leaves.
- The apex of the leaf forms a lid which opens and closes the mouth of the pitcher.
- Inside the pitcher there are hairs when the pitcher closes the insect gets entangled into the hairs.
- Insect is digested by the digestive juices secreted in the picher.
