- Photosynthesis requires the presence of chlorophyll in the leaves.
- Leaves having multiple colour pigments can have different colours. Coloured leaves also contain chlorophyll.
- So other pigments can mask the green colour of the leaves.

photosynthesis can be performed by leaves of colours
other than green as well.
