Answer

(1)

  • (a) been - not relevant
  • (b) be -  this is correct
  • (c) as - not relevant
  • (d) for - not relevant

Since Belgium is a proper noun and the sentence talks about its consideration as something, ‘be’ will be used.

So, the correct answer is “(b)-be”

(2)

  • (a) of - this is correct
  • (b) for -  not relevant
  • (c) from - not relevant
  • (d) to - not relevant

Since the sentence is talking about what Belgium is known for in a sense that it is made up of that material, ‘of’ will be used.

So, the correct answer is “(a)-of”.

(3)

  • (a) also - not used for connecting sentences
  • (b) or - used when there’s a choice
  • (c) but - not relevant for two events happening simultaneously
  • (d) and -  this is correct

Since the sentence is talking about two situations that occur simultaneously (size of the industry and its employment rate) and thus will be requiring a connecting word. So, ‘and’ will be used

So, the correct answer is “(d)-and”.

(4)

  • (a) are learning - not the first form of verb
  • (b) have learnt - not the first form of verb
  • (c) will learn - not used with present tense
  • (d) learn -  this is correct

Since the sentence is talking about a fact (people learning their craft at vocational schools) , the first form of the verb (learn) will be used.

So, the correct answer is “(d)-learn”.

(5)

  • (a) that - not relevant
  • (b) those - not relevant
  • (c) their  -  this is correct
  • (d) our - used with first person

Since the sentence is talking about something belonging to someone (businesses of belgian citizens) , ‘their’ will be used.

So, the correct answer is “(c)-their”

Thus the correct paragraph is
