Answer

(1)

  • (a) in - used to describe the position
  • (b) on - used to describe the position
  • (c) to - this is correct
  • (d) after - not relevant

Since the vehicle will be approaching a destination , in this case ‘madras’, ‘to’ will be used.

So, the correct answer is “(c)-to”.

(2)

  • (a) on - this is correct
  • (b) in - used to describe the position
  • (c) for - not used with dates
  • (d) from - only used when two dates are involved

Since the sentence depicts the date on which the event will be occurring, ‘on’ will be used.

So, the correct answer is “(a)-on”.

(3)

  • (a) may - used with uncertain events
  • (b) can - used with uncertain events
  • (c) will - this is correct
  • (d) could - not used in simple future tense

Since the sentence is in simple future tense and tells about the event that is going to occur, ‘will’ will be used.

So, the correct answer is “(c)-will”.

(4)

  • (a) for - not used with time
  • (b) at - this is correct
  • (c) on - not used with time
  • (d) by - can be used with time but not relevant in this case

Since the sentence is talking about the time of the event, ‘at’ will be used.

So, the correct answer is “(b)-at”.

(5)

  • (a) could - not the correct verb
  • (b) will - this is correct
  • (c) shall - not the correct verb
  • (d) must - not relevant

Since the sentence is in simple future tense and tells about the event that is going to occur and there is no obligation to follow a rule or instruction , ‘will’ will be used.

So, the correct answer is “(b)-will”

Thus the correct paragraph is
