Question 11 The point which divides the line segment joining the points A (0, 5) and B (5, 0) internally in the ratio 2:3 is _____________ Given points A (0, 5) and B (5, 0) Let point be P(x, y) divide AB in ratio 2 : 3 Coordinates of P = ((๐‘š_1 ๐‘ฅ_2 + ๐‘š_2 ๐‘ฅ_1)/(๐‘š_1 + ๐‘š_2 ), (๐‘š_1 ๐‘ฆ_2 + ๐‘š_2 ๐‘ฆ_1)/(๐‘š_1 + ๐‘š_2 )) = ((2 ร— 5 + 3 ร— 0)/(2 + 3), (2 ร— 0 + 3 ร— 5)/(2 + 3)) = ((2 ร— 5)/5, (3 ร— 5)/5) = (2, 3) So, required point is (2, 3)
