Question 1 - Think & Reflect (Page 169) Can you calculate the probability of getting one head and one tail? Our Tree Diagram looks like We need to find every path that results in exactly one head and one tail. There are two paths that work: First path: Get Heads first, then Tails (HT). The probability of this specific path is 1/2×1/2=1/4 Second path: Get Tails first, then Heads (TH). The probability of this specific path is 1/2×1/2=1/4 Since either of these paths gives us the winning result, we add their probabilities together: 𝟏/𝟒+𝟏/𝟒=2/4 =𝟏/𝟐 (or 𝟓𝟎% )
